The first question every founder asks us is the price. The second, usually half-whispered, is "and what's your cut?" Here's the full answer, in writing, so you don't have to ask.

    The 30-second version

Selling your app to BlueThrone costs $0. There's no listing fee, no broker commission and no success fee. We're the buyer, not a middleman, so we pay you the purchase price. You only pay your own advisors if you choose to use them, and the taxes due on the sale in your country.

    What you pay BlueThrone

    • Listing fee: $0. There's nothing to list; you talk to the buyer directly.
    • Broker commission: $0. No one sits between you and the money.
    • Success fee: $0. We don't take a percentage of your exit.
    • Valuation: free. Get an estimate in about 30 seconds with the valuation calculator, then a full, data-backed offer from our team.

Why a buyer doesn't charge you

A broker or a marketplace earns when a deal closes, whoever the buyer is, so the fee comes out of your price. When you sell directly to the company buying your app, there's no one else to pay: the price we offer is the money that reaches you. That's also why the conversation is shorter. You talk to the people who'll run the app after you.

What you might still pay for

    • Your own lawyer or accountant to review the purchase agreement, if you want one. We recommend it for larger deals.
    • Taxes on the sale, depending on where you and your company are based.
    • Your time during due diligence: giving read access to your store consoles, analytics and revenue data so we can verify the numbers.

    How the price is set

We price from your real data, not from a pitch deck: yearly profit, revenue model, how many users come organically, retention and how long the app has been live. As a rule of thumb, buyers pay 2-5x yearly profit, with subscription apps at the high end and ad-supported apps and games lower. The full breakdown is in our app valuation guide.

    Who qualifies

We buy profitable iOS and Android apps with at least $50K in monthly recurring revenue. Organic rankings, subscription revenue and a large, loyal user base make an app worth more to us. If you're below that today, the valuation guide shows what moves the number.

    The timeline

    1. Day 1: a call to understand you, the app and the fit.
    2. Days 5-9: our analysts review the data and prepare the valuation.
    3. Around day 10: you get a data-backed offer.
    4. Around day 20: signing, then the app transfer and the payment.

What we'd do in your shoes

Before you talk to any buyer, write down three numbers: your monthly net revenue, your profit margin and your share of organic users. Run them through the calculator. Then ask every buyer the same question we answer here: "What will I actually receive, after every fee?" The answer tells you a lot about who you're dealing with.
